Those my friends are what I like to call cracker sized bites of heaven. I wish I could take credit for them, but I swear my sister told me years ago that these little beauties are a part of the Sugar Busters diet. Then again, I could be wrong. It could be in fact that my sister is a genius put on earth to make up wonderfully delightfully white trashy recipes just for me to enjoy.
Or not.
Either way, I eat these. I’m not ashamed to admit it either. Because see, here’s the thing…on the weekends I never have lunch type foods around. Don’t ask me why. But I do always have Triscuits and cheese. And on the ever so rare occasion (which isn’t so rare), I have pizza sauce and pepperoni slices. What? That’s normal, right?
So making these for a meal is easy.
It requires four whole ingredients.
ingredients:
pizza sauce (don’t skimp, get the Ragu Pizza Sauce)
pepperoni – turkey or regular
Triscuits – I actually only use, I mean eat, the reduced fat ones. Really, when you’re eating cardboard, there’s no difference in taste.
shredded mozzarella
To make:
Lay out your Triscuits on a baking sheet.
Top with the sauce (as little or as much as you’d like)
Add the cheese
Finish with a slice of pepperoni
Bake at 350 for 7-10 minutes or until your cheese has melted and the pepperoni starts to look crispy.
But be careful…as Amy put it, that sauce will be hotter than magma.
I seriously think I want this for breakfast. Yum!
Girl, this was a staple in college. Toaster oven AND budget friendly.
pepperoni on a shizkit? hmmm… maybe you’ll need to make it for me.
I used to eat these all the time! Sometimes I didn’t have the sauce so it was lunch meat topped with cheese then toasted. You’re right about the low-fat triscuits, too. I can’t tell the difference.
Thanks for the shout-out, too. You spoil me!
I would carry pepperoni in my pocket on a daily basis if I could. Love the recipe. I do the same thing with little bagels as well although there is something about the crunch of a triscuit :). Maybe a bunch of us could get together and invent some kind of fashion forward refrigerated belt bag…we could then carry around the fixins for these beauties everywhere…or is that too much?
I love appetizer Saturdays!
Oh, I love it.
I think I will have to skip on the pepperoni cause I am not a fan of pork. I should do a blog post on my weird food issues one day!
Anything on a triscuit rocks!
I think my eyes are playing tricks on me. Does that say “not a fan of pork”? *gasp*
oh no! you’ve offended brooke! brooke loves bacon. bacon on everything. oh hell, so do i.
Sorry, yeah, I did.
I could tell you why, but I don’t want to ruin pork for you too.
I won’t mention my porkobia again (here)
oh no! no ruining pork for the rest of us! 🙂
but yes, try turkey pepperoni. it works just fine for me too.
I’ve actually made these many times, just minus the toasting (which I will immediately start doing).
@Molly — try the Turkey Pepperoni. It’s a delicious sub and, quite frankly, I can’t even tell the difference.
I could totally do turkeyroni…cause I love turkey bacon.
This looks really creative and easy to make. Great recipe.
I like pizza.
Cracker-sized crack!! I love triscuits!! So addicting…
