*UPDATE* White Trash Wednesday! Velveeta Fudge

I received an email this evening from a dear friend admitting that she had in fact made Velveeta Fudge a few years back.
To quote her…
“it was every bit as bad as you would imagine (maybe worse), and it went straight from the saucepan into the trash”.
It takes a big person to admit something like this….and sweetie, I’m not laughing at you, I’m laughing with you.
Thanks for sharing your story. I owe you one.

As always, here at youarewhatyoueat…orreheat, the purpose is to solve problems. In this case, to help provide you with any last minute Christmas treats you may need to whip up for a holiday party.

And that’s why today I bring you – VELVEETA FUDGE….because a white trash Christmas wouldn’t be complete without fudge or velveeta.

You will need:
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
8 ounces pasteurized process cheese, Velveeta, cubed
1 1/2 pounds confectioners’ sugar, about 5 cups unsifted
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa
1/2 cup non-fat dry milk
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups coarsely chopped pecans or walnuts

To make:
In a large saucepan over medium heat, heat butter and cheese cubes together, stirring frequently; remove from heat.
Sift together confectioners’ sugar and cocoa; add to cheese, mixing well.
Stir in non-fat dry milk, vanilla and nuts.
Turn into a 9x9x2-inch pan; chill until firm and cut into squares.

Makes about 3 pounds of Velveeta Fudge.

No doubt if you show up with this treat in tow, people will be talking.
🙂

  1. Have you made this? This sounds extremely untasty and unappetizing. Yick.

I don’t actually make any of them. They’re for pure (disgusting) entertainment. Who would ever think of combining velveeta and chocolate?
ps. what would you have said if I’d told you I’d made it? 🙂

    this is really beyond bizarre……
